There seem to be an awful lot of ogunquit hotels and as I am trying to find one to stay in soon, I am finding it tricky knowing which one to choose. They all seem really good and I am tempted just to pick a random one or to stay at several just in case one is not so good as another! If you read the websites, they all say they are good and all of their features are great. The pictures look lovely too. Sometimes I wonder what to expect when I get to a place though as the pictures are not always an accurate representation as obviously they are of the very best rooms, which are not normally the ones that I can afford!
As I am on a tight budget, I have also been looking at ogunquit motels and really these are pretty good as well and all look pretty much the same as each other. I really do think that I will just pick the cheapest and see what it is like and then I will be able to save some money and hopefully get good value for money. The only way to tell is to book up and see.
I have just had a new food catalogue through from my local supermarket. They do catered food and also lovely cakes. I was looking through the cakes because I think they look pretty and they seemed to have something for every occasion that you could think of. Of course they had lots of birthday cakes for men and women and children. They had Christmas and Easter cakes and they had Mothers Day cakes. They had wedding cakes and bridal shower cakes and even baby shower cakes which I thought were delightful.
I am likely to be helping to organise one soon and so it is great t know that there are cakes available. In fact I really should be starting to think about the party and the things that I need to do as I have been asked to come up with some ideas with the food and also organise the baby shower decorations. I am not really sure where I would get those from and so I ought to start searching on line and see whether I can get any ideas. I am sure I will be able to find some nice things as there are bound to be some Internet sites selling pretty things.

i openned a container of vodka mix (sour apple mix, vodka, flavor) and took a small sip and then closed it as tight as i possibly could with all my strength. how long will it last bc the cap is on as tight or maybe tighter than when originally packaged, how long do you think this vodka will last in storage (non refrigderated?)
it’ll last longer in the refrigerator…but at room temperature it should go for more than 6 months or more ..i have a 7 month old vodka raspberry under my bed and i just drank a lil last night…and it still tastes like the first day i drank it..
That’s a lot of protein. Lentils are a good source of protein at about 25g of protein per 100g. To get your amount of 200g you would need 800g of lentils which is a huge amount, a standard serving being about 80-100g cooked.
Other than beans, vegetables don’t really have that much protein.
NB - these measures are for raw amount - as lentils increase in weight (by about two times) after cooking due to the absorption of water you would actually need to eat a whopping 1600g of cooked lentils!
NB - Brown rice only contains 2g of protein per 100g so isn’t a very good way to increase your protein intake.

200g of protein from veggies? I hope you have a lot of time, and a big appetite.
You could eat 4 cups of peanut butter and hit 200g, but you’d also be taking in about 6,000 calories.
If you want to count vegan protein shakes as “from vegetables” (they are usually rice or pea based), then that would be the most calorie efficient way to get extra protein.
Im starting a much needed diet. Eating right is probably the biggest problem i have. I need some healthy recipes to make. Don’t bother asking me what I like, im willing to try anything once. What’s your favorite HEALTHY recipe?

Berry Smoothie:
- Frozen Strawberries
- Frozen Raspberries (or Frozen Blackberries if you want)
- Frozen Blueberries
- Fresh Orange peeled, sectioned (orange is optional)
- Green tea cooled
- Sweetner to taste (whatever you like to use)
- Water (Filtered is best - add as little or as much depending on consistency desired…. if creamy and frothy add less water)
Place in blender until smooth (you don’t need ice since fruit is already frozen).
I get my frozen fruit at Trader Joes cause it’s organic and only $2.00 to $3.00 a bag, even blackberries.
You can also take the frozen fruit and make parfaits:
- Yogurt (vanilla or any flavor you’d like - I take plain yogurt, unsweetened, and add a dash of vanilla and sweetner like Equal to it so there’s less sugar in my diet)
- Frozen berries (let thaw - you can chop them into smaller pieces if you like and either let them be or add sweetner, just a bit though)
- Granola (I just take raw oats, honey, and whatever else you want to put in it like seeds or nuts, etc., mix it all together until it’s all coated in honey, place it on a cookie sheet on 350 degrees until golden - you have to watch it and turn it over or mix it around while baking so it won’t burn - After it’s done you can make a lot and store it in the fridge for further use)
In a parfait cup or regular cup or bowl just layer the yogurt, fruit and granola however you want.
You can also take plain yogurt and make different smoothies:
Banana Smoothie:
- Bananas
- Plain Yogurt
- Sweetner
- Lemon Juice (just a pinch, maybe a teaspoon to liven and freshen up the smoothie)
- Water (filtered is best)
Blend and you’ll have something more like a milkshake and sweet… more like dessert…
Peanut Butter Smoothie:
- All Natural Peanut Butter
- Almond or Rice Milk (I feel soymilk is bad for you - google it… bad for the hormones)
- Honey
- You can also add fiber to this (if you take a fiber powder daily)
- Ice (optional)
Grilled chicken, sauteed scallops or shrimp, salads are fantastic. Leafy veggie salads are better then anything with a mayo base, just a little tip that keeps me from gaining weight.
I would like to have a birthday dinner for my husbands 30th birthday. the guest list includes 23 adults and 17 children so far. I need to know of any places that could accommodate us or that has a party room or something like that. Most places are first-come first-serve but we would all like to sit together. I was thinking Outback but can’t remember their setup. Some have suggested Golden Corral but I would like somewhere that serves alcohol.
A lot of restaurants have private rooms for large parties … just look in your yellow pages and start calling.
But for that kind of money (what it would cost to feed 23+ adults at Outback), why don’t you consider using a caterer? It would be tailored to what you’d like to have, and way more affordable than eating out.
Bacon + Egg SandWich!! with a side dish of fryed Onion
——
Its taste great . Usually this dish is done in the Hispanic tradition . If you add onion , chili peppers, diced tomatoes and Egg alone its called ‘huevos a la mexicana. In english its eggs mexican style (Taste great w/ flour tortilla). These tacos are sold here in local stores in south Texas . I can honestly say , bacon and onions w/ eggs taste good , try it
For example Coke Zero….it seems a bit too good to be true!
nI couldn’t have put it better myself! Alcohol, depending on what it is, is between 5 and 10kcals/ml. What you didn’t mention is the fact that there have been many studies that have shown most artificial sweeteners to be carcinogenic.
The *ONLY* artificial sweetener I consume is xylitol, because it has been proven to be useful in helping to prevent tooth decay, cavities and the build-up of plaque, by the British Dental Association.
I get through a 14-stick pack of Orbit Complete a day (especially now they’ve brought out fruity ones - strawberry and lemon & lime - I prefer fruity gum to mint - but it does tend to disintegrate in my mouth more readily than the mint varieties but, maybe, that’s just me…)
The rest should be banned IMNSHO, and especially in anything given to kids. The product that makes me the angriest is the no-added-sugar kids’ drinks (particularly Ribena, which has been marketed as safe for the under 3s). Whilst the over-consumption of sugar is a bad idea for anyone, but particularly kids (unless you ban consoles and limit their computer time so they become more active) but I would rather a child of mine have a little bit of natural sugar than a whole load of artificial additives!
Thinking of giving something special for your man? Sometimes, cologne and socks are just too familiar. You need fresh and fun ideas to give to your man. What about chocolate poker chips? You always see him with the boys on Thursday nights playing a friendly round of poker so why not make it fun for them. Chocolate poker chips are made of high-quality chocolate with a wide array of choices. They are available in Belgian chocolate, dairy milk and even white chocolate with edible casings. Some are manufactured as perfect reproductions of poker chips with $10, $20, $50 and even $100 amounts. What’s great about them is that when you feel the need to munch on something, you have a bite-size chocolate poker chip to munch on.
For your more discerning poker friends, why not give them a little sack of gourmet chocolate coins. They can always be used as alternatives for chocolate poker chips. Flavors are more varied with choices of bitter almond and peppermint gourmet chocolate. When you have enough of them, you can bring a few of them home for your kids. They will have a great time using them as prize coins in their board games or play money. The best thing about them is the fact that they come in perfect sizes for individual snacking.
