What is the best and cheapest phone service?

Friday, July 27th, 2007

The cheapest and the best phone service is one that offers phone and internet as a package. Digital phone are good enough. Traditional landlines use copper lines. Although, a broadband provider with your DSL is usually more expensive than the VoIP provider, but it will give you better customer service and installation.

If you choose any other VoIP provider make sure you get good customer service and tech support. Also check online the E911 service. It is 1.99 dollar a month now. Be aware of all the VoIP-reviews as they change every few months.

Do you think race superiority still exits?

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

Racism has been defined as a system of group privilege. It has been defined in Portraits of White Racism by David Wellman (1993) as “culturally sanctioned beliefs, which, regardless of intentions involved, defend the advantages whites have because of the subordinated position of racial minorities. Sociologists Darlene Alvarez and Maddern Noel Cazenave define racism as “…a highly organized system of ‘race’-based group privilege that operates at every level of society and is held together by a sophisticated ideology of color/’race’ supremacy.

In this modern era how can anyone be superior? You can read some books on Taoism. It says that man was once peaceful but through the growth of the ego he separated his ties with animals and each other. We have lost our way because of “superiority.”

Some of the more simple cultures are actually “superior”, but it depends on what your values are. The more separate we become from the earth, the more complex our society and the further we distance ourselves from “truth,” which seems to be everyone’s obsession. Race superiority as whole in a certain race over another is false.

Now; certain races do have a trait that is often more superior to another race but that is because of the culture, geography, ect.

Is anyone familiar with diminishing returns?

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

Diminishing returns can be defined as the fall in the marginal physical product of an input as the total amount of the input rises, keeping the other variables constant. Diminishing return sets in after a possible initial increase in marginal returns. In economics, it is also referred to as the ‘law of diminishing returns’ or ‘diminishing marginal returns’. Technically, the firm’s short run marginal cost curve will eventually increase.

You can understand the concept better by the following example: Say you have a store with 5 employees. You pay these employees a salary, plus commission. Business is booming and you hire more employees hoping to make more sales but remember that includes more salaries per employee and more commissions per sale. You keep adding more employees and so forth. At some point, the number of employees you add will result in diminishing returns because your costs will exceed your expected profits. In other words your marginal return will begin to decrease.

Was slavery the cause of the American revolution?

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

Slavery was not the active cause of the American Revolution. It played a passive role in it. The American Revolution took place between 1775 and 1783. Slavery was not a problem at that time as the American Colony whose economy depended on hand-picked crops like tobacco and cotton could not have survived without it. It was when the British government became too demanding that the leaders of the colonies organised themselves against their overlords and rebelled. This led to war and the British were eventually defeated with the help of the the French and expelled. As for slavery, many of the American leaders and heroes, such as Washington and Jefferson, were in fact slave owners themselves, and so were hardly likely to fight against it.

Formatting “Local Disk”(laptop)?

Monday, July 23rd, 2007

Your laptop comes with a recovery software. They are located in the default drive where windows is installed i.e. the C drive. These recovery files may take around 2 - 3 GB and differ with each manufacturer. Consult your manual and they should state how much space is taken by it. FYI, a 43GB HDD does not have an effective 43GB of available space.

Hidden partition is present in most of the computers, which is used for system restore. It is needed to re-install windows or restore your computer to the factory default condition. Your lost space may be there. A format alone would not remove that partition. You need to repartition your disk. If you format, all your data will be lost and you will need to reinstall windows. You will get all the windows default programs back but not anything that you installed yourself. If you do not know how to do it, you may encounter some problems so seek professional helpask someone who knows how to do it.
